Curriculum
Please click below to see the curriculum map for Year 2 as well as the topic web for this half term. These are working documents however, so they may change as we progress into the term. The Year 2 Curriculum Meeting slides are also below.
Our Learning
Please take time to look at our Curriculum Map if you were unable to attend the Curriculum Meeting. The slides for this that we used are also available on this page.
Supporting your child with their learning at home
We hand out homework to complete with your children every Friday, this is then due in on the following Wednesday. The homework will conist of a small amount of Maths- there are three difficulty levels to chose from, an optional additional task usually around their IPC topic and reading which we would like to see recorded in their reading records three times a week please.
Spellings- Children will have 8 spellings sent home linking to a phonics or spelling pattern being taught in class. These will be tested in the spelling session on a Friday morning.
Reading- Reading should be completed a minimum of 3x a week, but ideally for 10 minutes each evening. This should be completed with an adult, who then records the reading session in the reading record. These should be brought to school daily.
Please see below for a helpful recommended reading list.
PE
PE kits (as outlined in the uniform letter):
No football kits to worn to school. If children have a club after school, they need to bring this into school in a bag to change into before or after the club.
Your child's PE date will usually change each term, we will update you will this information as soon as we can on Class Dojo.
