Year 4 Home Learning Projects

Here are some projects for you to do, should you wish to, over the coming weeks.

There is no expectation that you have to complete them, and how much you manage to do will be different for each family.

Some of you will be able to complete projects, some of you may just do a small amount towards it, some of you may find it hard some weeks to do any work due to family commitments.

We understand this and whatever you do, or don't manage to do, is fine.

These are ideas to keep your brain active and busy.  Keeping your brain busy really helps when you cannot go out and do all of the things you would normally do.

We are so proud of everyone of you for helping by staying at home as much as you can!  Keep telling us how you are doing via the school Twitter feed.  We love hearing from you!

Project 8 - Mini Theatre

Here is a fun project to end the term, creating a pop up mini theatre.  Mr. Morand has given you a link to The British Library website, a set of step by step instructions and ideas to get you started should you wish to complete this.  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

As always, #whatyoucan #whenyoucan #ifyoucan

Project 7 - Black Lives Matter - 29 June 2020

Miss Alpha has put together some information on Black Lives Matter for you to read; she has also thought of a variety of ideas of things you can do in response.

You don't have to do all of the activities, choose the ones that appeal to you.

Project 6 - Mini Book - 15 June 2020

Your next project is to create a mini-book, have a look at the PDF for ideas.

We can't wait to see what you produce!

Project 5 - Kindness Calendar - 01 June 2020

Your next project is all about looking after our mental health during lock down by creating a Kindness Calendar.

Did you know being kind to others makes us feel better too?

It is also important to be kind to ourselves, especially when we are finding things hard in these different times.

It might be hard coping with being at home all of the time, or having to be patient when adults are working or trying to do your home learning without being able to ask your partners or teachers from school where you would get immediate help.

Have a look and upload your ideas to your portfolio on Class Dojo!

Project 4 - Town Guide - 08 May 2020

This week your project to is to create a guide book about a town or place.  It could be Chislehurst, it could be any real place in the world.

This is a geography project so it must be factual, but remember to be descrptive too.  There are lots of ideas on there to get you started.

As always, do what you can and have fun!  Don't forget to let us know how you've got on and send your work in for us to see!

Project 3 - Story Characters - 27 April 2020

Project 3 is all about story characters!

Think about the books we have read in school or your own favourite book and create a new character to go into the story.

There are lots of ideas on how to present it and we can't wait to see your ideas.

Do what you can, when you can, and most importantly have fun!  Send in our ideas via Twitter or email.

Project 2 - Maths Games - 20 April 2020

This project is all about having fun with maths and keeping your mental maths skills on tip top form.

Create a game to play with other members of your family.  It could be a board game or it could be a game you can create using things you have in the house or garden.

Think about how you can adapt the questions for different members of your household, for example how will a you ask a question to younger members of your family? How will you ask a question for someone of your own age or older?

The most important thing about your game is that it must be fun for everyone who plays! We can't wait to see what you themes you use or ideas you come up, you are all fantastically creative!

As always, get done what you can, when you can, and if you can't do this project right now, or at all because of things happening at home, that's fine too.  Just #staysafe and #stayathome.
