Open Days for Reception pupils due to start in September 2018

If your child is due to start school in September 2018, we would like to invite you to come and view our school and meet our Head Teacher. Please contact the school office to confirm your attendance at one of the following dates:

Class 6L

This week in 6L we have been looking at how dialogue can improve narrative when used correctly. We have explored scenes of our book "The Wedding Ghost" with some drama this week, trying to really consider characters' thoughts and feelings and harvest a range of effective vocabulary from this. The children have been working hard to understand different ways of classifying living things in Science and have been exploring natural disasters, their causes and effects in our topic "What a Wonderful World".

Girls' Football Team

To celebrate National Girls' Football Week the Red Hill girls' Football Team competed in a football competition hosted by Crystal Palace football team where they performed amazingly. They also had a fantastic experience of having their picture taken with the real Premier League trophy and met Pete the Eagle, who is the official Crystal Palace mascot.

So far the girls have played 8 matches as a team:

Won: 5

Draw: 2

Lost: 1

Goals scored: 11

Goals conceded: 2

Crystal Palace Cross Country

Well done to the year 5 & 6s who participated in the annual Crystal Palace Cross Country run on Saturday 11th November.
All runners braved the rain and cold to turn up and represent the school in one of the biggest competitions in the country and did excellent. All should be proud!

Year 3 & 4 will be racing in March - more details to come soon!

Sensational Day in Year 1

In 1V we had lots of fun on our sensational day! We went on a senses walk and had a tasting afternoon.

Gymnastics in Year 1

1B have been so lucky to have gymnastics coach Sam this half term,

They have been learning floor skills and have been learning to use the big equipment.

This week children were learning to balance on the beam and jump into a landing shape.

Year 3 enjoyed a visit from the Travelling Natural History Museum. 


Girls Football- October 2017

The Year 5 and 6 girls football team won all their matches to qualify for the Bromley final which will take place on Tuesday 28th November. The results were as follows:

Red Hill 2 - 1 St Mary's

Red Hill 2 - 0 Burnt Ash 


Red, White and Blue Day - 6th October 2017

Today Friday 6th October the children came into school dressed in red, white or blue (or a combination of all three!) to celebrate women in the forces commemorating the 100th birthday of the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS) and the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and exploring all the roles women have taken up when serving their country. The children brought in a £1, which will be sent to ABF The Soldiers' Charity, The RAF Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. Thank you to everyone for your kind donations.

No Pens Wednesday for 2M

For no pen Wednesday this week, children in 2M explored 2D shapes through different activities. We sorted real life 2D shapes into categories, created paintings of different types of transports by stamping with shapes and sorted shapes based on how many sides they have.

5S learn about Macbeth

The Young Shakespeare company visiting Year 5 to perform Macbeth. Every child had the opportunity to become a character in the play and took part in the end battle.
